About this file

This document is an amendment to Solicitation N0010424RK015 for 6K Diesel, Sit-down Counterbalanced Forklifts. The amendment extends the proposal receipt deadline from June 19, 2024 to July 3, 2024 and provides answers to vendor questions. Key details include:

The customer prefers the required shade of yellow per the Statement of Work, but is open to accepting an alternative yellow color. Solid pneumatic tires are acceptable if they meet the salient characteristics and pass First Article Testing. However, the forklifts must be UL 558 certified by a National Recognized Test Lab, which the Germany-manufactured equipment does not currently have. Vendors should note these exceptions in their proposals.

SECTION SF 30 BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE

SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION A - SOLICITATION/CONTRACT FORM

The required response date/time has changed from 19-Jun-2024 02:00 PM to 03-Jul-2024 02:00 PM.

(End of Summary of Changes)

The following items are applicable to this modification:

CONTINUATION PAGE

1. Section 3.32.4 Coverage and color. Our manufacturer offers yellow RAL 1004. Will this be acceptable?

Customer prefers required shade of yellow per the SOW for shipboard consistency across the fleet. Though, they are open to waive this requirement and accept the alternative yellow. This would need to be noted in vendor proposal.

2. The bid specs ask for cushion tires, are solid pneumatic tires ok?

Customer would be ok with the alternative solid pneumatic shaped tires as the proposed unit will have to undergo First Article Testing for its performance testing. As long as it meets the requirements such as salient characteristics and ultimately FAT, they don’t see a problem with it. This would need to be noted in the proposal.

3. Section 3.33.5 UL certification is for US standards. This truck is made in Germany and will not be UL certified.

Is this ok?

Not acceptable. Must be UL 558 certified by UL LLC or another equivalent National Recognized Test Lab (NRTL) such as FM Approvals for ordnance and/or hazmat handling.
