About this file

This document is a presentation and agenda for the Undersea Special Mission Systems Industry Day 2026, a Reverse Industry Day event hosted by the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Program Management System (PMS) 390.

The event is scheduled for January 20-21, 2026, and focuses on submarine rescue capabilities and next-generation systems. Day one includes registration, opening remarks from RADM Rucker (PEO SSN), CAPT McGlone (PMS 390), and Matthew Hedrick (NAVSEA 02 PCO), followed by presentations on the legacy submarine rescue system and next-generation focus areas by Curt Cunningham (Submarine Rescue PAPM) and Erik Moore (New Technologies PAPM). An open question session and one-on-one meetings (30-minute sessions) between industry and government representatives comprise the bulk of both days. PMS 390's mission is to support U.S. underwater warriors by providing unparalleled special mission capabilities to operate faster, deeper, and safer. Current operational assets include the Submarine Rescue System (SRS), Assessment/Underwater Work System (AUWS), SRS-Rescue Capable System (SRS-RCS), SRS-Transfer Under Pressure (SRS-TUP), and Light Weight Mooring System (LWMS). The primary focus for next-generation submarine rescue is achieving 24/7/365 worldwide submarine rescue capability with a 72-hour time to first rescue (TTFR) threshold. Secondary focuses include commercial air transport capability on standard commercial airframes, significant reduction in planes required, improved operational availability, minimized maintenance and sustainment costs, and maximized interoperability across global submarine rescue systems. The government emphasizes that remarks during the industry day are informational only and do not constitute acquisition commitments; formal solicitations will be issued through the System for Award Management website (sam.gov) in accordance with federal procurement laws.
