About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) for the FY28-33 AEGIS Weapon System (AWS) MK99 Fire Control System (FCS) Mod X. The RFI is seeking information from industry on capabilities to redesign, qualify, and produce the below-deck equipment for the MK99 FCS, including the radar transmitter, director controller, data converter cabinets, and illuminator. Key requirements include designing a solid-state transmitter, digital oscillator, and digitized FCS loop, while maintaining existing interfaces and functionality. Interested parties must demonstrate experience in design, qualification, life-cycle engineering, and production of similar below-deck equipment, as well as the ability to provide an engineering development model by June 2029 and subsequent deliveries every 4 months. The Navy is interested in industry approaches for retrofit to existing MK99 FCS installations and mitigation of supply chain issues. The RFI responses are limited to 20 pages and due within 30 days of the posting on SAM.gov. The anticipated contract will include cost-plus-fixed-fee for engineering services and production of the EDM, and firm-fixed-price for production orders.
