Question 25 Please provide SeaCon 8304-106/110: “ Sensor Connector” drawing and/or definition
Answer 25 See answer to Question 8.
Question 26 The Government has developed the DURA-9 and NGD-9 materials over many years and has used this product to field two EDM systems, and is currently developing a VCS forward fit design with a known material system that is both uniquely formulated and proprietary to a single source. Based on this circumstance, how will the Government evaluate an approach that does not include the current supplier? Also, will the Government provide under this solicitation the proper Part A and Part B chemical formulas, the qualification processes used by the Government to qualify these materials, and the Government-specified controlled manufacturing processes required to produce
Parts A and B?
Answer 26 The Government does not agree that DURA-9 and NGD-9 materials are proprietary to a single source. The information provided by the solicitation is adequate for offerors to manufacture the materials.
Question 27 Has the Government begun to develop alternative sources to the current sole-source provider for both the DURA-9 and NGD-9 materials? If so, please provide the name of these organizations under this solicitation.
Answer 27 The Government does not agree that DURA-9 and NGD-9 materials are proprietary to a single source.
Question 28 The Government, through public shipyards and labs, has developed the concept of mounting large arrays using a mold-in-place concept for many years, and is currently developing a concept for the SSN-790. Will the Government provide applicable data, such as Government lessons learned and all associated installation work instructions and procedures, from these prior Government-led mold-in-place installation efforts?
Answer 28 The Government declines to provide the requested information. The solicitation does not require Offerors to install the LVA.
Question 29 The Government requests, within this Section, an understanding of the risk and significant risk associated with the fabrication and testing of the LVA installation fixtures. Since the Government has installed several large mold-in-place LVA-like arrays in the past through public shipyard efforts and Government labs/FFRDCs, will the Government provide data applicable to prior installation procedures, installation drawings/sketchs, prior lessons learned and constraining shipyard requirements, so that these risks and significant risks can be properly addressed within an Offeror's installation approach.
Answer 29 The Government declines to provide the requested information.
Question 30 The Government is requesting an understanding of the risk and significant risk associated with the First Article development and test of the LVA fixtures (manufacturing & installation).
