You may add as much text as necessary. The box will expand to show all text.: Oxford's detector system is meant to replace our existing system consisting of Oxford's INCA detector software. Currently, TAC-342 has many past project files for projects up to 10 or more years old. These project files can only be read by compatible Oxford software. The Oxford AZTecEnergy is backward compatible and able to read previous software versions of Oxford INCA files. Acquiring this system will ensure that our exploitation capability is up to date with future technologies and that we are able to read our older project files, as well as verify and compare past samples.
You may add as much text as necessary. The box will expand to show all text.: Subject requirement, along with this Limited Source Justification, will be posted to FedBizOpps. Pricing will be determined fair and reasonable through price lists and other pricing tools.
You may add as much text as necessary. The box will expand to show all text.: Market research determined that in addition to other systems not being able to read older Oxford project files, similar instruments did not have required features as follows:

Bruker QUANTAX for SEM- did not have 80 mm^2 detector option.

ThermoFischer Scientific UltraDry EDS system- did not have 80 mm^2 detector option.

EDAX TEAM EDS system- did not have 80 mm^2 detector option.

You may add as much text as necessary. The box will expand to show all text.: Because acquiring the Oxford AZTec Energy detector system would be considered an "upgrade" and not necessarily a new purchase, the FME Lab would be able to receive a trade in value towards our current detector.
You may add as much text as necessary. The box will expand to show all text.: It is necessary for the SEM detector to be compatible with the older project files- thus no barriers can be overcome at this time. The purchase needs to be of a compatible Oxford detector system. The Farragut engineers will monitor the market for future opportunities for competition.
