About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for a naval maintenance service involving a main circulation pump steam turbine for the USS MOUNT WHITNEY (LCC-20). The Navy requires an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or authorized representative to open, inspect, and provide a comprehensive Condition Found Report (CFR) for one Whiton Machine Co. Type BHSVG steam turbine, rated at 124 BHP and vertically mounted.

The work is to be performed at the contractor's facility from September 1-30, 2025, with specific requirements including a detailed inspection per NAVSEA technical manual, documenting all findings, recommending safety and operational testing procedures, and preparing the turbine for overseas shipping and long-term storage. The Navy will arrange shipping, and any additional repairs or parts will be addressed through a separate Contractual Change Order. The solicitation (N3220525Q2410) is issued by the Department of the Navy Military Sealift Command, with the port engineer Sean Mattingly as the primary point of contact.
