The work involves semiannual maintenance (two visits per year, approximately six months apart) on sixteen magnetic particle testing units across six different models: GB-3509-01, D-2060, M-2040, 3009R-6, P70, and DA750. The awardee must be factory-trained and ISO 17025 accredited. Contractor responsibilities include comprehensive mechanical and electrical inspections covering headstock and tailstock operations, short circuit testing, quick break function testing (using certified Magnaflux QB-2 model only), bath draining and inspection, fluid refilling and circulation checks, pneumatic and electrical operations, cooling fan function, relay and contactor testing, wiring and cable inspection, and operational verification of all switches and controls. The contractor must document and correct any deficiencies found during inspections not exceeding $400 in repair costs per visit, provide diagnostics and repair quotes for items exceeding $400, and furnish emergency breakdown services. The performance period begins approximately June 30, 2026, with work conducted at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, Virginia. The awardee must meet all entry and security requirements for the shipyard, including obtaining a DBIDS card and NAVSEA badging. Contractors must comply with portable electronic device restrictions in controlled areas, including prohibitions on unofficial photography and audio recordings in designated security zones. Materials will be provided by the Government, including Carrier II fluid and Magnaflux 14A powder for bath refilling. The vendor point of contact is Newco, Inc.
