About this file
This is a scope of work document for an annual contract issued by the Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) for the procurement of moisture cure urethane paint to support Bridge Maintenance operations. The contract covers estimated annual requirements of primer (480 gallons in 3-unit containers), intermediate coat (480 gallons in 3-unit containers), and topcoat (240 gallons in 5-unit containers). The contract period runs from September 15, 2008 through September 14, 2009. Delivery is required to the Carmel Bridge Maintenance Storehouse in Carmel, Maine, with advance notice to Barry Prescott at 207-941-4553 prior to delivery. The State of Maine reserves the right to extend the contract beyond the indicated expiration date with contractor consent and may cancel with thirty days' written notice.
Pricing must be quoted net F.O.B. destination with transportation and delivery charges fully prepaid by the contractor, and prices must remain firm throughout the contract period. Based on historical spending, the estimated annual requirement is approximately $60,000, though this figure represents neither a minimum nor maximum commitment. Vendors must accept the State of Maine Procurement Card as payment with no surcharges permitted regardless of payment method. The successful bidder must provide current Material Safety Data Sheets in compliance with Maine chemical substance identification law and furnish a summary of purchases made during the contract period to the Director of Purchases. The state encourages vendors to extend contract pricing to Maine political subdivisions and school districts. All inquiries should be directed to Terry DeMerchant, Procurement Manager, at the Division of Purchases.
