About this file

This is a technical specification document for LED light pole fixtures issued by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) in conjunction with a one-time procurement bid. MoDOT-St. Louis is seeking qualified suppliers to provide Holophane Mongoose Medium LED roadway (MGLEDM) light pole fixtures or approved equals. The fixtures must be delivered to 2309 Barrett Station, Building E, Ballwin, MO 63021 within 20 working days from the date the purchase order is issued. The specification establishes comprehensive technical requirements for the luminaires, including construction materials, electrical components, performance standards, and compliance certifications.

The specification requires fixtures manufactured in the USA with a die-cast aluminum housing, IP66-rated LED light engines using Chip on Board (COB) technology with borosilicate glass lenses, and a passive heat sink design without fans or gels. Electrical requirements include quick disconnect couplings, terminal blocks accommodating up to 6 AWG conductors, UL1449-recognized surge protection devices rated to 10kV/5kA, and LED drivers with minimum 90 percent power factor and less than 20 percent THD. Performance standards mandate minimum 120 lumens per watt efficacy, minimum 70 CRI, CCT options of 3000K, 4000K, or 5000K, and a component-rated life of 20 years or 100,000 hours at 25°C ambient. The luminaire must be CSA certified, appear on the Design Lights Consortium Qualified Products List, feature a 10-year warranty, withstand -40°C to 40°C ambient temperatures, and comply with ANSI, ASTM, IES, NEMA, NFPA, and UL standards. Bidders must submit detailed documentation including LM-79 photometric reports from NVLAP-accredited laboratories or Department of Energy CALiPER-qualified facilities, installation instructions, recycled content summaries, and point-by-point photometric analyses using specified light loss factors.
