About this file
This is a model contract document from the County of Orange, California, for the Sheriff-Coroner Department's Purchase of Various Meats and Meat Products. The contract seeks a vendor to supply a diverse range of frozen and chilled meat products, including ground turkey, beef and chicken patties, halal and kosher meats, low sodium options, and pre-cooked items for inmate meal services. The contract is set to begin on September 1, 2025, with an initial three-year term and potential for two additional years of renewal. Deliveries will be made Monday through Friday to four different County Sheriff-Coroner facilities, with specific temperature and packaging requirements, and strict adherence to USDA and Health Department regulations.
The pricing structure is based on per-pound or per-case rates for 21 different meat product line items, with the total contract amount yet to be determined. No price increases will be considered during the first contract year, and any subsequent adjustments require 30-days advance notice and documented proof of cost increases. The County requires the contractor to maintain competitive pricing, guaranteeing that rates are equal to or less than those offered to other government entities. Payment will be made net 30 days after invoice receipt, with invoices submitted in arrears. The contract includes provisions for emergency deliveries, product substitutions, and quality assurance, with the County reserving the right to reject products that do not meet specified standards.
