About this file

This is a Bid Schedule for the Mines Road Portal Project, a Commonwealth of Virginia reclamation initiative located near 6196 Mines Road, Pulaski County. The project involves the reclamation of one abandoned mine portal and one vertical opening. The bid schedule itemizes 16 line items encompassing mobilization, access road upgrade (1,050 linear feet), clearing and grubbing (0.5 acres), multiple aggregate stone types totaling 162 tons, silt fence installation (100 linear feet), temporary and permanent 18-inch HDPE culvert installation (20 linear feet each), chain-link safety fence perimeter installation (55 linear feet), vertical opening wire panel closure (320 square feet), mine portal closure with bat gate and wet seal, grass-lined drainage ditch installation (70 linear feet), and revegetation (0.5 acres). The bid schedule requires bidders to calculate unit prices for each item and extend them to determine total bid price, which will be used for contract award determination, performance bond assessment, and payment bond calculations.

Bidders must submit a bid bond for all bids of $100,000 or more. Payment will be made based on actual units verified in the field, and the mobilization item is limited to no greater than 10% of the total base bid amount. Bidders who submit zero as a unit price or leave any unit price blank will be considered nonresponsive. The specification emphasizes the importance of accurate pricing and instructs bidders to verify all price extensions before submission, noting that in cases of pricing errors, the unit price shall govern over the extended total.
