MILK & DAIRY BID (COOPERATIVE)
Solicitation number
26-3
Issued by
Ulster County, New York

About this file

This document is a detailed milk and dairy products delivery bid specification covering multiple school districts in Ulster County, New York, including Highland Central, New Paltz Central, Marlboro Central, Onteora Central, Ulster County BOCES, Saugerties Central, Rondout Valley Central, and Kingston City Schools. The bid solicits proposals for daily milk and dairy product deliveries to various school locations, with specific delivery windows typically between 6:30 AM and 10:15 AM, Monday through Friday during the school year. Each school district provides precise delivery instructions, and the awarded vendor must meet strict requirements such as providing milk coolers if requested, ensuring milk is pasteurized, delivered at proper temperatures (34-45°F), and packaged in leak-proof containers with a minimum 10-day expiration date.

The bid emphasizes local supplier preference and includes specific quality standards mandated by New York State Agriculture and Markets Law and the State Public Health Council. Several districts explicitly require milk to be antibiotic-free and from non-bovine growth hormone (BGH) cows. Vendors must submit complete bids with unit pricing and total price calculations, and be prepared to handle individual school orders by telephone. The bid appears to be a cooperative purchasing opportunity primarily managed by Ulster BOCES, allowing multiple school districts to participate in a consolidated procurement process for milk and dairy product procurement, which can potentially yield cost efficiencies and standardized quality controls across participating districts.
