About this file
This is a Military Specification document issued by the Navy establishing requirements for connector assemblies, plugs, and receptacles used for electric power transfer between shore and ship installations. Supplement 1 was released on 25 March 1987 as part of MIL-C-24368B(NAVY).
The specification covers five distinct connector assembly types across multiple specification sheets. MIL-C-24368/1 addresses power transfer plug assemblies rated at 500 volts, 500 amperes, 60 hertz (Symbol Number 1160). MIL-C-24368/2 specifies receptacle and cabled receptacle assemblies for power transfer at the same electrical ratings (Symbol Number 1161). MIL-C-24368/4 covers both plug and receptacle electric power transfer assemblies at 500 volts, 500 amperes, 60 hertz with multiple symbol numbers (1162.1, 1162.2, and 1162.3). MIL-C-24368/5 defines plug assemblies for submarine shore power transfer at 500 volts, 400 amperes, 60 hertz, three-phase (Symbol Number 1149). MIL-C-24368/6 specifies dual-purpose submarine shore power transfer assemblies for both AC and DSRV battery charging at 500 volts, 400 amperes, 60 hertz, three-phase (Symbols 1150 and 1150.1). The Navy's Shore Systems activity (SH) served as the preparing activity. This document is approved for public release with unlimited distribution.
