About this file

Summary

This is a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) document issued by Miami-Dade County for the installation of a replacement water main along NE 206th and 205th Streets in Florida. The project involves the installation of approximately 1,500 linear feet of new 8-inch zinc-coated ductile iron water main with associated valves, hydrants, and service connections to replace aging infrastructure between NE 26th Avenue and West Dixie Highway. The scope of work encompasses flushing and air release assemblies, testing and disinfection of the new water main, abandonment of existing pipe, maintenance of traffic during construction, and restoration of pavement, sidewalks, landscaping, and other disturbed areas to a condition equal to or better than the original state. All new facilities must be installed, tested, and commissioned to achieve full operational readiness.

The document establishes the qualification requirements and evaluation criteria for contractors interested in bidding on this water infrastructure project. Interested parties must submit qualifications demonstrating their experience, financial capacity, and technical capability to execute the project. The RFQ process allows Miami-Dade County to pre-qualify contractors before issuing a formal invitation to bid, ensuring that only qualified firms with proven experience in water main installation and related utility construction proceed to the next phase of procurement.
