LBNL Response to Questions 01 Re: LBNL RFP MG-0611024 – 06/24/2024

1. AL-1208-0209 Revision: C (ALS-U supplier quality evaluation survey)

Does this document have to be submitted as a part of the proposal by 7/12 or, is it acceptable to submit it after winning the bid?

LBNL Response: Please refer to RFP Factor 4

"Evaluation of Factor 4 is based on the completion of the ALS-U Supplier Quality Evaluation Survey AL-1208-0209 (Must be submitted with the Technical Volume)".

It must be submitted with the supplier’s proposal.

2. AL-1745-1941 Revision: B (SR Flanged BPM Button Engineering Specification)

• 8.2 BPM connector type

• 8.3 Electromagnetic properties

From 8.2 and 8.3, it is required for the supplier to meet the specifications as “Must” but we have to say that it is challenging to verify them ourselves in such a short period.

LBNL Response: The supplier is not required to measure the full electromagnetic properties. LBNL is able to measure the full electromagnetic properties on the first articles or samples delivered by the supplier. The supplier must be able to optimize the design to meet the stipulated electrical specifications.
