About this file
This is an RFP clarification document issued by the City of Wausau, Wisconsin, through its Metro Ride department in conjunction with the City-County Information Technology Commission (CCITC), regarding an on-board bus camera system procurement. The project involves the removal of current video systems and installation of proposed on-board camera products with associated software and hardware configuration on transit buses. The City of Wausau Metro Ride operates a single depot facility and currently does not have wi-fi infrastructure; proposers should address the capability of hardware to be queried over wireless networks as the city develops this infrastructure in the future. No estimates should be provided for building out a wi-fi network at the facility.
For on-board storage calculation purposes, the City clarified that maximum bus operation is 12 hours per day, five days per week, with storage requirements calculated for 122 calendar days. The typical fleet configuration consists of seven buses operating 12-hour fixed routes, 15 buses running four-hour daily routes, one paratransit bus operating 10 hours, and three additional paratransit buses averaging approximately one hour of operation each per day. This operational schedule results in approximately 960 hours of monthly storage requirements across the four-month calculation period.

Metro Ride – City of Wausau On-Board Camera System RFP Clarifications:
All vehicles operate out of a single depot.
We currently do not have wi-fi at that facility and do not wish the proposers to provide estimates for building out a wi-fi network. It is our intent that the proposer discuss the capability of the hardware to be queried over a wireless network as we build out.
For the purposes of calculating on-board storage: the maximum a single bus would be on the road is 12 hours a day five days a week.
Storage for 122 days is for calendar days . 12 hours per day X 5 days per week = 240 hours per month X 4 months = 960 hours (a typical day has 7 buses out on 12 hour fixed routes, 15 buses running 4 hours per day, a para-transit bus running 10 hours and the other three paratransit buses running on average an hour a piece).
