About this file
This is a Medical Equipment Maintenance and Calibration Specifications document for a Maine hospital facility. The document outlines the comprehensive requirements for vendor services related to the maintenance, calibration, inspection, and testing of the hospital's medical equipment inventory. The vendor must maintain an updated database of all equipment, perform semi-annual preventive maintenance and calibration verification with the first inspection required before April 26, 2013, and subsequent inspections every six months thereafter. Additional services include incoming inspection of new equipment within one week of receipt, corrective maintenance when available, and provision of clinical engineering consultation. The vendor must complete inspections within 30 days of the due date, apply inspection stickers to each device with relevant dates and initials, and submit preventative or repair reports no later than one month following service completion, with two copies provided to the hospital's Director of Facilities.
The vendor must provide proof of licensure, attend hospital safety orientation prior to on-site service delivery, and notify the hospital of any medical alerts or recalls affecting inventoried equipment. A hard copy of testing and preventative maintenance procedures for each piece of equipment must be submitted, and the vendor is responsible for maintaining copies of all reports submitted to the hospital. Notably, there is no additional cost for travel associated with the contracted services. The specifications document was issued on October 17, 2012, and references an attached listing of current equipment to be maintained, which may be modified as hospital needs change to assist vendors in preparing bid quotes.
