About this file

This is Construction Bid Addendum No. 1 issued by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget's Design and Construction Division for the MDOT Southwest Region Office HVAC System Replacement project (File Number 591/22395.JLM). The addendum was issued on October 22, 2026, with a bid opening date of October 28, 2026. The project, managed by professional firm Matrix Consulting Engineers under Project Director Josiah Meyers, involves replacing the HVAC system at the MDOT Southwest Region Office. The addendum incorporates fourteen clarifications and modifications into the bidding documents, including the issuance of Specification Section 238233 for convectors, approval of specific equipment manufacturers (Aaon for Air Handling Units and Condensing Units, with lead modulating digital scroll compressors for units CU-2 and CU-3), and restrictions limiting boiler and controls manufacturers to those listed in project specifications. The addendum also addresses construction logistics such as contractor responsibility for floor covering protection and replacement, coordination with MDOT Space Management for furniture relocation, fire alarm vendor designation (EPS), and building access coordination with MDOT.

Specification Section 238233 details requirements for hydronic finned-tube radiators, including performance standards per Hydronics Institute ratings and approved manufacturers including Embassy Industries, Engineered Air, Rittling, Rosemex, Slant/Fin, Trane, Vulcan, and Sterling. Additional clarifications address sprinkler system modifications by certified fire suppression contractors, concrete pad installation, lighting fixture specifications (eight 2x2 Lithonia fixtures replacement), and protection of work stations with visqueen or equivalent materials. All bidders must acknowledge the addendum in their bid submission, and failure to do so may result in bid rejection. The addendum becomes part of the contract documents and was approved by Project Director Josiah Meyers on October 22, 2026.
