About this file

This is an Addendum to a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a Math Literacy Program issued by Flint Community Schools, located in Flint, Michigan. The RFP seeks vendors to develop and deliver a comprehensive mathematics literacy intervention program serving the entire student body from Pre-K through 12th grade. The intervention should operate through multiple modalities including during school hours, after-school programs, intercessions, and summer months. The original submission deadline was extended to August 8, 2019. The District is open to awarding contracts to either a single vendor capable of serving the entire K-12 continuum or multiple vendors, provided there is collaboration to address needs across all grade levels. The District has already adopted a reading intervention program and envisions the mathematics literacy program complementing this existing initiative.

Flint Community Schools will not disclose the budget allocation for this program. Funding for the initiative comes from the District's general fund and categorical funding sources. The District expressed willingness to consider vendors who can deliver both mathematics and reading interventions. As the entire student body is anticipated to benefit from the mathematics literacy focus, the scope encompasses comprehensive district-wide implementation rather than a limited population of students.
