About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details a repair and rehabilitation project for Building B43424 at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan. The comprehensive project involves repairing concrete structures, including walls, beams, columns, roof, and floor slab, with specific tasks including removing and reinstalling electrical systems, applying Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) to structural elements, abating asbestos and lead-based paint, and restoring the facility's appearance.
The project is structured with a total Period of Performance of 605 calendar days, broken down into 150 days for design and 455 days for construction. Key rehabilitation activities include sandblasting and cleaning structural elements, installing new unidirectional carbon FRP on precast units and columns, replacing roof components, repairing concrete surfaces with polymer concrete, installing new electrical systems with Class 1, Division 1 ratings, and painting interior and exterior surfaces. The work must comply with sustainable design principles and meet BSE-2E structural performance levels, with careful attention to environmental controls and mitigation of hazardous materials.
