About this file
This is a technical specification document from MnDOT District 8 - Marshall, MN detailing requirements for steel sectional doors. The specifications cover both insulated and uninsulated electrically-operated steel sectional doors, including all hardware, tracks, electric motors, operators, control wiring, control equipment, and control stations. The doors must meet specific performance requirements including withstanding wind loads of 20 lbf/sq. ft. and completing a minimum of 100,000 operation cycles. The specifications require installation by manufacturer-authorized representatives with at least 5 years of experience, and include warranties of 5 years for materials/workmanship and 10 years for factory-applied finishes.
The document outlines detailed technical requirements including thermal insulation (R-Value of 17.5 for insulated doors), air infiltration rates, track configurations, weatherseals, windows, and electric door operators. Electric operators must be medium duty (up to 15 cycles per hour) jackshaft type, with LiftMaster Trolley-Logic 5.0 as the basis of design. The document notes that all necessary wiring disconnection and reconnection will be performed by MnDOT, with Cory Meagher (320-894-8202) listed as the contact for site access. No specific pricing terms or funding information is included in this technical specification.
