About this file
This document is a military specification (MIL-DTL-29429C(MC)) for women's skirts used by the United States Marine Corps. The specification details comprehensive requirements for two skirt types: Type I (short length) and Type II (long length), with four distinct classes of skirts in different colors and fabric compositions: Green and Dark Blue polyester/wool gabardine, White polyester twill, and Black polyester/wool tropical. The skirts are available in sizes X0 through 18 and three length variations (Short, Regular, Long).
The specification provides exhaustive technical details including material requirements, construction methods, manufacturing operations, pattern specifications, and quality control standards. Key specifications include precise measurements for waist, seat, shell length, and lining length, with a tolerance of ±1/2 inch. The document covers everything from fabric composition and thread specifications to buttonhole placement, zipper construction, and ID pocket design, ensuring a standardized, high-quality uniform skirt for female Marine Corps personnel. The specification was last updated on 23 May 2022 with Amendment 1, superseding the previous version from 17 October 2019.
