About this file
The Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) has issued a Due Diligence Posting for stand-by ambulance services related to the Boston Marathon. The contract is anticipated to cover a five-year period from April 2025 through April 2030, with yearly contracts to be issued to ambulance companies located in communities directly affected by the Marathon route. The contracts will be awarded in compliance with 105 CMR 170 regulations, with ambulance companies being strategically staged along the marathon route to provide emergency medical support.
While the posting emphasizes that this is not a guarantee of funding, it represents an ongoing commitment to emergency medical preparedness for the Boston Marathon. Interested ambulance companies must be positioned in marathon-affected communities and willing to provide stand-by services. Any concerns or questions about the proposed contract should be submitted in writing to Katrina Robinson at katrina.robinson@mass.gov. The annual nature of the contracts suggests flexibility and ongoing evaluation of service providers based on performance and regulatory compliance.
