About this file
This document is the Massachusetts WIC Program's Warehouse Shipping Specifications for the Northborough Distribution Center, outlining requirements for vendors delivering products to the state agency. The specifications establish comprehensive guidelines for shipment preparation, packaging, and delivery logistics to ensure proper handling and protection of items. All shipments must utilize Free on Board (FOB) destination terms with freight pre-paid by the vendor. Orders of 10 cartons or 200 pounds or less meeting FedEx or UPS ground guidelines should be shipped via those carriers, while larger orders exceeding these thresholds must be palletized and cannot be shipped via container. Individual cartons are limited to a maximum weight of 30 pounds, and all boxes must be clearly labeled with form numbers, product descriptions, language specifications, and sequential carton numbering (e.g., 1 of 6, 2 of 6).
Palletized loads must conform to specific standards including Grade A GMA four-way pallets measuring 48 inches long and 40 inches wide with three single stringers, five bottom boards and seven top boards in good condition, and a maximum total weight of 2,000 pounds. All cartons must have outward-facing labels and be securely shrink-wrapped to the pallet. Each purchase order requires a separate packing list attached to cartons, documenting ship-to and ship-from addresses, purchase order information, item quantities, and total carton, pallet, and weight counts. Vendors must provide advance notice of delivery to WICDeliveries@MassMail.State.MA.US including delivery date, number of cartons or pallets, and purchase order information. Complete orders ship to 35 Lyman Street, Northborough, MA 01532, with deliveries accepted Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Products returned due to vendor non-compliance will be charged back to the vendor's account.
