About this file
This is a specification document issued by the Massachusetts State WIC Program outlining shipping and delivery requirements for vendors supplying products to the Northborough Distribution Center. The document establishes comprehensive guidelines for packaging, carton preparation, palletization, and delivery logistics to ensure standardized handling of WIC program materials. Shipments of 10 cartons or less and weighing 200 lbs. or under should be sent via FedEx or UPS ground service, while larger orders exceeding these thresholds must be palletized. All individual cartons cannot exceed 30 lbs., and vendors are responsible for providing appropriate shipping containers that meet carrier requirements. Cartons must display clearly marked information including form numbers, product descriptions, language designation, and sequential numbering of total cartons in each shipment. Packing lists must accompany all shipments and be affixed to the outside of cartons.
Palletized loads must utilize Grade A GMA four-way pallets measuring 48 inches long by 40 inches wide, with three single stringers, five secure bottom boards, and seven secure top boards, with a maximum weight limit of 2,000 lbs. per pallet. All pallets must be in clean condition free of damage and foreign materials, with carton labels facing outward and securely shrink-wrapped. Vendors must provide separate packing lists for each purchase order number, including complete shipping details, purchase order information, carton and pallet counts, and total weight. Advance notice of delivery must be sent to WICDeliveries@MassMail.State.MA.US prior to shipment, with deliveries accepted Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 35 Lyman Street, Northborough, Massachusetts 01532. All freight terms are FOB destination with freight pre-paid by the vendor. Non-compliance with these specifications will result in product returns at the vendor's expense.
