4.1.1.3 Product baseline. Objective evidence provided during first article inspection shall be examined to verify that all requirements specified in the product baseline (TDP) are met. Five sets of components, subassemblies and assemblies shall be subjected to a physical configuration audit (PCA) to establish and verify the product baseline (see 6.7).
4.1.2 Design verification quantity. Design verification quantities shall be in accordance with
Table I of this specification. Multiple tests can be combined to reduce sample size upon approval (see 6.4).

4.4.2.8 Milking. An inert Stun Grenade shall be used to demonstrate that the grenade shall not function (striker hitting the primer) until after the safety lever is released and has traveled a distance of not less than thirty (30) degrees from the grenade body center-line (after all safety mechanisms are removed).
4.4.3 Human engineering. Verify by examination of objective evidence that the Human
Engineering office has approved the Stun Grenade for military use (see 6.8).
4.5 Operating verification.
4.5.1 Operational safety. The Stun Grenade shall be tested for fragmentation in accordance with MIL-STD-331, Procedure D1. Each grenade shall be placed in the bottom-center of a four-foot by four-foot by four-foot (4 X 4 x 4) cube constructed using one layer of Celotex building board and no Celotex on the base. Half of the grenade sample shall be placed without restraint in vertical orientation with fuze assembly on top and half of the grenade sample shall be placed without restraint in any horizontal orientation except the safety lever pointed down.
