SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE
Program Executive Officer, Land Systems

16 December 2025
Notice Type: Sources Sought
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS. THIS IS A SOURCES
SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This Sources Sought Notice is for planning and informational purposes only and shall NOT be considered as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. The Government will NOT be responsible for any costs incurred in responding to this Sources Sought Notice or furnishing the requested information. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise because of a contractor’s submission of a response to this Sources Sought Notice or the Government's use of such information. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any Contractor's input resulting from this Sources Sought Notice.
No contract will be awarded because of this announcement. Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.
1.0 Introduction
The Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) platform, to include the ACV Personnel Variant (ACV-P), ACV Command and Control Variant (ACV-C), and ACV-30mm Medium Caliber Cannon (ACV-30) vehicle chassis are currently being produced by BAE Systems Land & Armaments LP (BAE), along with initial design of the vehicle chassis for the ACV-Recovery (ACV-R) Production Representative Test Vehicle, under contract M67854-16-C-0006.
The Turret for the ACV-30 is currently being manufactured by Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace (KDA). The ACV-30 employs KDA’s PROTECTOR Series Remote Turret – 20 (RT-20). The RT-20 is a gyro-stabilized design for remote operation and is equipped with advanced day and thermal imaging sensors, an eye-safe laser range finder, and an automatic weather station.
The RT-20 carries an ammunition handling system that supports a dual linkless fed, closed bolt, externally powered, chain driven 30mm x 173 MK44 Mod 4 automatic gun. The RT-20 also incorporates an internally mounted M240 coax machine gun. The ACV-30 fire control system was developed by KDA and allows the operator to observe, select, and engage moving targets.
The fire control system leverages the azimuth and elevation motors of the sights and turret for a four-axis solution to keep the target centered in the display at all times.
The Government will not provide any technical data nor will the Government provide turrets as Government Furnished Equipment to industry for assessing its capability to fulfill this requirement.
Program Manager, Advanced Amphibious Assault (PMAAA) is planning an engineering effort to support the operation and sustainment of the ACV-30 Turrets in the Fleet Marine Force. This effort will include Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) to modify and upgrade the RT-20 turret system.
PM AAA is seeking to identify interested vendors capable of providing engineering support for the ACV-30 Turrets in the form of ECP support. To meet the Marine Corps’ Approved Acquisition Objective, PM AAA requires sustainment support for the associated production quantities of the ACV-30 Turret, which requires performance of the tasks identified in Section
2.0 below.
