Industry Question
Will USMC debrief the manufacturers on their Demo boats via conference call or in person?
Will USMC accept additional material samples in advance of the final specification to determine if current components and accessories are acceptable?
Can USMC define the broaching test payload (section 3.6.1)? For example, 2800 lb Objective, minus 4x 200lbs Marines = 2000lbs remaining payload for broaching.
Would USMC consider loaning a 55 MFE engine for a mutually agreed time to facilitate factory testing prior to RFP publication? Vendor's does not own a 55 MFE pump jet engine to use for factory testing. It is currently impossible to accurately verify performance specifications.
New 55 MFE are not available since BRP/Evinrude ceased production.
5. Are the stored dimension requirements (section 3.12.2) intended to include the installed air floor? Are accessories (pumps, paddles, lift sling) to be included in the stored dimensions?
Will USMC consider changing KPP’s based on manufacturer’s demo boat performances during the December event?
Following award and delivery of the six bid sample craft, will USMC work with the awarded manufacturer to resolve noncompliances to performance specifications?
a. Yes, please coordinate through the Project Officer (GySgt McConnell; morgan.mcconnell@usmc.mil)
