3.7.5.1 Provisioning Parts List
The PPL is a tool used to determine the range of support items required to maintain the end item for an initial period of service of 2 years. This period of service is also known as the
‗demand/development period,‘ during which time usage data is tracked and used to determine future sustainment requirements. The PPL shall contain the end item, component, or assembly and all support items which can be disassembled, reassembled, or replaced, and which, when combined, constitute the end item, component, or assembly.
The PPL shall include items such as parts, materials, connecting cabling, piping, and fittings required for the operation and maintenance of the end item/equipment, component, or assembly.
This includes all repairable and non-repairable NDI items unless excluded by the provisioning requirements. It does not include a breakdown of GFE. The PPL shall include tools, test equipment, repair kits, and repair parts sets required to maintain the end item, component, or assembly equipment unless excluded by the provisioning requirements or meeting the requirement for CBIL inclusion if CBIL is a contract requirement. The PPL shall be structured in a Top-Down Breakdown sequence. Indenture Codes shall be in Alpha Character format.
Provisioning List Item Sequence Number (PLISN) sequencing of the PPL shall begin with
Alphanumeric Codes of A001 as the first ―B‖ indenture PLISN and continue through A999, then
B001 and continue through B999.

Commercial and Government Entity Code (CAGE) Code, if available.
The Guidebook shall be written at the eighth grade reading level and shall include color illustrations that complement the written procedures. The procedures shall decompose tasks to an adequate level and provide sufficient detail to allow a Marine with basic fiber optic training
(Military Occupational Specialties 28XX/59XX) to perform the steps without the aid of external technical support.
All procedures shall be developed utilizing Marine Corps Fiber Optic tools and assemblies currently existing in the Marine Corps inventory. The following kits will be made available as
GFE upon written request by the contractor: A7903 Fiber Optic Cable Assembly Kit, A7910
Tool Kit, Fiber Optic System and A7920 Splicing Kit, Fiber Optic Cable. The contractor shall not include how to configure components of these kits.
The contractor shall also include estimated task completion times for all parent tasks and first-level subtasks within the guidebook. The time estimate for all first-level sub-tasks shall be the sum of all first-level subtasks. The time estimate for first-level subtasks shall be the sum of all second-level and below subtasks. For example, the contractor shall provide the total time for the parent task ‗Splice Fiber Optic Cable‘. Each subordinate first-level subtask will have a time estimate provided.
