About this file
This is a Statement of Salient Characteristics (SOC) for an Integrated Emergency Vehicle Lighting, Siren, and Control System. The document establishes technical specifications for a fully integrated, modular emergency warning system that must operate as a unified ecosystem controlled through a single master control panel. All components—including the lightbar, perimeter lighting, siren amplifier, and control interface—must be fully compatible and interoperable without third-party adapters or custom circuit modifications. The entire system must operate directly from a standard 12 VDC vehicle electrical system with an operating range of 10 to 16 VDC, with no auxiliary or independent battery supplies permitted.
The Central Programmable Control Panel must feature a minimum 19-button programmable keypad with tactile backlighting and status indicators, integrated noise-canceling microphone with Push-to-Talk public address functionality, input voltage of 9 to 16 VDC, maximum amperage draw of 0.75A at 13.5 VDC, and physical dimensions of 7.60" L x 3.65" H x 1.25" D. The Siren Amplifier & Power Distribution Module operates at 10 to 16 VDC with standby current of 500 mA (ignition on) or 4 mA (ignition off), supports 100W and 200W siren configurations, provides direct output switching of at least 75A, and achieves system expansion capability up to 325A using remote expansion nodes. The Primary Overhead Lightbar is a nominal 48-inch low-profile unit with 10 to 32 VDC multi-voltage compatibility, operating temperature range of -40°C to +65°C, minimum 70 selectable warning flash patterns and 50 takedown/alley patterns, configurable LED colors (Red, Blue, Amber, Green, White), and IPx5 environmental protection rating. Secondary perimeter lighting consists of ultra-compact tri-color LED modules with single-piece silicone optical lenses, and mounting hardware includes no-drill grille installation brackets and dual-light license plate mounting brackets.
