The D&B supports the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC), and represents the Marine Corps illustrious history in music and marching events throughout the United States and performs approximately 500 ceremonies annually. USMB supports most White House events, nationwide concerts, and performs at over 200 ceremonies in the Washington DC metro area annually. These scarlet red and black coats are mandated by the Commandant and therefore considered mission essential. It is critical to provide quality uniforms that conform to Marine Corps Military Standards for the Marines participating in the official events and ceremonies.
1.1 Scope
The D&B and USMB have a mandatory organizational requirement to wear the scarlet red and black coats in order to meet their primary mission of musical support to our nation’s highest-ranking officials throughout our nation and abroad. The contractor shall provide both D&B and USMB with custom made coats and collars in accordance with military specifications outlined below.
1.2 Objective
The contractor shall manufacture and provide USMB and D&B with a full complement of scarlet red and black coats and collars of various MILSPECs, sizes and quantities. The Contractor shall provide actual finished coats produced in their factory in accordance with the specifications outlined in this Statement of Work (SOW). The contractor must be familiar with the specific military uniform requirements, including testing and wear capabilities. Consistency in manufacturing these coats and collars is key to maintaining quality workmanship and ensuring a uniform professional appearance.
1.3 Applicable Documents
All manufactured coats provided under this contract must be in accordance with the provisions of the following military specifications or future revisions of the Marine Corps Individual Clothing Regulations Manual Marine Corps Order (MCO) 1020. All work shall be performed in the best and most professional workmanship manner possible. Contractor must certify with every delivery that each garment is manufactured to the corresponding military specifications annotated below. The following documents are referenced as attachments to this SOW or are publically available, but must be adhered to for the completion of this effort:
