About this file

This is a federal procurement catalog for lumber and other related wood products. The catalog, effective November 2024, is maintained by the Defense Printing Service and contains detailed specifications and National Item Identification Numbers (NIINs) for various wood products commonly used in federal contracting. It covers crossarms, dowels, hardwood lumber in multiple species (ash, birch, maple, mahogany, oak, poplar, walnut), softwood lumber, flooring, laminated decking, lath, scaffold plank, shop lumber, siding, stepping, and timbers. The document provides Federal Specifications (MM-L-736 for hardwood and MM-L-751H for softwood, with references to replacement standard PS-20), Military Specifications for specialized applications such as ship and boat construction, and grading rules from various associations including NHLA, NSLB, SPIB, WCLIB, and WWPA. Each product line item includes specific technical requirements for surfacing, length, width, thickness, moisture content, and grade standards. The catalog specifies typical uses ranging from general construction and decorative purposes to specialized marine applications, and lists multiple size options and NIIN identifiers for ordering. Ordering inquiries are directed to the Defense Printing Service Detachment at the Philadelphia location with contact information provided. No contract vehicle type, award date, response deadline, or pricing information is included in this reference catalog.
