About this file

This document is a Memorandum for Record limiting competition for a Faraday Tent Enclosure, issued by SOCSOUTH (U.S. Special Operations Command South) Operational Contracting Support Integration Cell. The requirement is for one LRG RF/EMI Faraday Tent Enclosure (Part No. 14035) from Faraday Defense Corporation, located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to support sensitive indoor/outdoor operational requirements for local and remote locations in the SOUTHCOM Area of Responsibility. The acquisition is a fixed-price delivery order using Operations & Maintenance, Army (OMA) funds, with a required delivery of 60 days after contract award.

The procurement will be solicited as a small business set-aside, with market research indicating the item is a commercial product available to the general public. The contracting officer certified the anticipated cost as fair and reasonable based on historical pricing, and determined that a sole-source acquisition is in the government's best interest due to Faraday being the only vendor with the specific power specifications and connectivity needed to support Special Operations Forces (SOF) Sensitive Activities.
