About this file
This is Addendum 1 from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) addressing bidder questions for IFB Number C5612539-D for Fire Extinguisher Services at Centinela State Prison. The addendum clarifies that service dates will be mutually agreed upon between the Institution Contract Liaison and Contractor, with work to be performed during normal business hours from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays.
The addendum provides key clarifications regarding operational requirements, including that "reconditioned equipment" refers to refurbished used extinguishers that meet standards. Any parts replacement or services like hydro testing or refills require written estimates submitted to and approved by the Institution Contract Liaison before work can proceed. The document also confirms that formal proposals are not required for this IFB, directing bidders instead to the Bid Submittal Checklist on page 17 of the IFB package for required documentation.

A written estimate of the required part(s) shall be submitted in writing to the Institution Contract Liaison or designee and shall be approved before replacement.
Question 4: Does a formal proposal need to be issued along with exhibit B or is this the only sheet that will be used to evaluate pricing?
Response 4: A formal proposal is not needed or required for this IFB. Please refer to page 6 of the IFB package, Bidder Responsibilities & The BID Package, as well as page 17, Bid Submittal Checklist, which list all the required documents for a bid submittal.
