About this file
This document is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Form issued by the City of Fort Myers, Florida, which establishes a goal of 15% participation for minority-owned businesses in municipal contracting. The form is designed to document a contractor's good faith efforts in meeting this MBE participation goal, requiring detailed documentation of outreach, communication, and engagement with minority-owned businesses during the bidding and contracting process.
The form provides a structured approach for contractors to record their interactions with minority businesses, including steps to document transmittal letters, telephone and in-person contact records, handling of incomplete or non-responsive quotations, and explanations for non-utilized MBE firms. Each section of the form requires specific information such as firm contact details, communication methods, work descriptions, contract amounts, and justifications for decision-making, ultimately aiming to ensure transparent and equitable participation of minority-owned businesses in city procurement processes.
