About this file

The document is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Form issued by the City of Fort Myers, Florida, specifically designed to support the city's Resolution 38-125, which establishes a 15% Minority Business Enterprise participation goal for contract opportunities. The form is part of the Public Art Consultant procurement process and is intended to document contractors' good faith efforts in obtaining minority business participation by requiring detailed records of outreach, communication, and engagement with MBE firms.

The form provides a structured framework for prime contractors to demonstrate their commitment to MBE involvement, including sections for documenting prime and MBE contractor information, transmittal letters, contact records, quotation reviews, and explanations for non-utilized or non-responsive MBE bids. Contractors must comprehensively track and report their interactions with minority-owned businesses, including certified mail receipts, telephone/in-person visit logs, and rationales for bid acceptance or rejection. The goal is to ensure transparent and equitable opportunities for minority businesses in the City of Fort Myers' contracting processes, with a specific focus on promoting diversity and inclusion in public procurement.
