About this file

The document is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Form issued by the City of Fort Myers, Florida, designed to support the city's resolution 38-125 which establishes a 15% MBE participation goal for contract opportunities. The form is specifically related to the Platting Services Continuing Contract and provides a structured template for prime contractors and subcontractors to document their good faith efforts in engaging minority-owned businesses. The form requires detailed documentation including contractor information, MBE contractor details, record of transmittal letters, telephone/in-person contact records, and explanations for any incomplete quotations or non-utilized MBE firms.

The form is part of the city's procurement process to ensure diverse business participation, with sections that allow contractors to demonstrate proactive outreach to minority-owned businesses. Contractors must record specific details such as the total contract amount, MBE dollar amounts, labor and material costs, project commitment and completion dates, and methods of communication with potential minority business subcontractors. The goal is to create transparency and accountability in the contractor selection process, encouraging meaningful engagement with minority-owned businesses through systematic documentation of outreach efforts and business interactions.
