About this file

This document is a bid specification for a carpet tile installation project at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum (ALPLM) in the Lincoln Reception Room. The project involves removing existing broadloom carpet and installing Shaw Captivate 24" x 24" carpet tiles in a quarter-turned pattern, with tiles provided by the museum. Installation can occur between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. seven days per week, with specific restrictions around museum rental events. A pre-bid meeting will be held to allow bidders to view the space and take measurements. The project must be completed by June 30, 2025, with installation times preferably between 7:00-9:00 a.m. and/or 4:30-10:00 p.m.

Contractor responsibilities include complete removal and disposal of existing carpet, adhesive removal, substrate leveling, priming, applying appropriate tile adhesive, and comprehensive clean-up. The museum will provide pre-purchased carpet tiles, including additional tiles for future attic stock. The color specified is Roulette #54335, with the museum's facilities director planning to collaborate with the awarded vendor to coordinate specific installation dates that do not conflict with scheduled rental events. No specific pricing information or funding sources are detailed in the document.
