About this file

This document is a Sole Source Justification for Simplified Acquisitions issued on January 17, 2025, for a BPA call award to Knoll (contract #19AQMM19A0146) by the Department of State's Office of Acquisition Management. The justification supports other than full and open competition for ancillary furniture to be installed at the U.S. Embassy in Lilongwe, Malawi.

The procurement is valued at $788,519.14 and covers tables, credenzas, and chairs throughout the chancery at the New Embassy Compound (NEC). The sole source justification is based on Knoll being the only available BPA vendor able to meet the requirements, as the other BPA vendor (Allsteel) lacked properly secured personnel to work on the proposal at the time of issuance. The contracting officer determined pricing to be fair and reasonable based on BPA pricing. The document includes certifications from the Director of Interior Design (Acting), Contracting Officer, and Contract Specialist, with signatures dated between January 17, 2024 and February 3, 2025.
