C.1. OVERVIEW / BACKGROUND:

The Library of Congress (Library) requires contract support to expand the storage capacity of the Quantum storage system currently in use by the Multimedia Group (MMG). In 2017, the Quantum system was selecting as the storage system which was a part of a larger project undertaken by MMG. In FY19, MMG required contract support to successfully reconfigure the Quantum system to allow for access within a private VLAN. MMG is seeking to expanding the current capacity of the system to support larger media formats be-ing used, and to aid in support remote work by its staff. Engineers from Diversified designed the configuration of the system along with Quantum. Both of the Quantum projects, system commissioning and the reconfiguration of VLAN access were performed by Di-versified.

C.2. SCOPE:

The expansion of the system must be a Quantum based solution to support seamless integration into the current workflow. The solu-tion proposed must include all hardware components necessary for the expansion, commissioning/installation system warranty.

C.3. REQUIREMENTS:

The Quantum system must be expandable to support at least 576 TB of usable storage.

C.3.1. System Hardware (Storage Array) The storage for the system must be the Quantum QXS-484 ‘12G’ RAID Array; which meets the following criteria:

• Capacity of 672TB raw, minimum of 576TB usable

• Includes 56 x 12TB drives

• Supports Dual Active-Active Controllers for High-Availability

• Must include all SFPs and cables required for installation

C.3.2 System Commissioning/Installation The vendor’s proposal must include all costs (including travel) associated with the commissioning/install of the system by its engin-eer. MMG will ensure the installation of the appropriate fiber backbone prior to installation (to be discussed during Post-Award meet-ing).

C.3.3 System Warranty The Contractor’s proposal must include Quantum StorageCare Gold Support. This support level provides 24x7 technical support, re-mote support, priority on-site critical response, delivery and installation of replacement parts. The support period must cover a period of three (3) years from the effective date of the system installation.
