About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) SOF C-130 Program Office for market research purposes regarding a Fixed Wing Lightweight Hardware Recovery System (LARS) Hardware Refresh initiative.

The government seeks to identify potential sources capable of designing refreshed hardware components for the Lightweight Airborne Recovery System on HC-130J and MC-130J aircraft. The required design must constitute a Form-Fit-Function (FFF) replacement of current hardware components, specifically: Control Display Unit (CDU) 282950-1, Direction Finding Antenna (DF) 282810-1/282620-1, and Receiver Transmitter Assembly (RT) 282650-3/282550-1. Contractors must furnish all materials and services and maintain all necessary equipment and software either at their own facility or through subcontractors. The period of performance will be determined at a later date. Responses to the Contractor Capability Survey (Parts I and II) must be submitted via email within 30 days of posting to C. Ashley Blann (carolyn.blann@us.af.mil), Darryl Baker (darryl.baker.6@us.af.mil), or Anthony C. Evans (anthony.evans.18@us.af.mil). This RFI does not commit the government to contract for any services, does not constitute a promise to issue a future RFP, and responding is not reimbursable. The government encourages participation from small businesses and joint ventures. The proposed NAICS code is 541330 (Engineering Services).
