About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) Industry Briefing for the Landsat 10 Tri-Band Antenna procurement by USGS/EROS and NASA. The procurement encompasses a modified Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) antenna with associated electronics providing new Ka-band reception capabilities to replace an existing 5-meter antenna reaching end-of-life. The complete scope includes the antenna and electronics, radome for weather protection, antenna boresight/collimation tower for testing, civil works (site preparation, antenna pad and foundation, cabling installation for signal/power/status connections, and UPS/power center modifications), antenna and radome installation with site acceptance testing, and warranty/support consisting of one year included with initial procurement plus costed options for ten additional years of annual support renewals.

The antenna is scheduled for installation at the EROS facility in South Dakota between existing 5-meter and 10-meter antennas at a pre-surveyed location. The procurement timeline requires an 18-month vendor delivery and installation period followed by 6-month post-installation checkout and operations integration to meet Landsat 10 need dates, with Ground Readiness Tests scheduled for December 2031 and minimal schedule flexibility. Vendors must submit responses within 30 days using the provided cost data template, which should include line-item costs for each component and delivery/implementation timeframes. USGS will address vendor questions through day 20 post-RFI release on a best-effort basis and plans to schedule an optional site visit during the RFP phase. Vendors are encouraged to propose alternate wording for any SOW items or requirements they identify as significant cost drivers.
