Superior National Forest – LAC Insulate Fire Garage

Superior National Forest LaCroix Insulate Fire Garage

Scope of Work (SOW) Dated 2025

Background The LaCroix Ranger District within the Superior National Forests has a need for modifying, insulating and heating the district fire engine garage. The current garage space is unheated, and the overhead door is too small to park their fire engine safely. During cold weather the engine is moved to a different location to protect from freezing. A need has been identified to keep the fire engine at the LaCroix Ranger District office year-round in a heated space so that the engine is accessible and so that maintenance can be performed on the engine when necessary.

Existing: The overall dimensions of the garage are 28ft x 90ft with a floor to ceiling height of 114”. The garage space will be divided by a partition wall to have a section of the garage heated for the fire engine and the other section remain unheated. The dimensions of the new heated garage space will be approximately 28ft x 45ft.

12.1 Overhead Door
