About this file

This is a Labor and Material Payment Bond document issued by the County of Orange, California, establishing financial security requirements for a pharmaceutical services contractor. The bond mandates that the selected contractor provide a surety bond in an amount not less than the estimated contract value to ensure payment for all materials, labor, supplies, equipment, and services used in contract performance. The bond protects the County and all entities eligible to file claims under California Civil Code Section 9100, including suppliers, laborers, and subcontractors. The bond term extends throughout the contract performance period, with the contract commencing on March 1, 2026, and continuing for an initial one-year period with potential renewal options for up to four additional years, subject to Orange County Board of Supervisors approval.

The bond obligates the surety to pay all unpaid invoices for materials, labor, and services up to the bond's face amount, including any employment-related withholdings required under California Unemployment Insurance Code provisions. In the event of default, the surety is liable for all costs and reasonable expenses incurred by the County in enforcing the bond obligation, including reasonable attorneys' fees as determined and taxed by the court. The bond remains in effect regardless of any modifications, extensions, or alterations to the underlying contract terms, specifications, or scope of work. Contractor and surety signatures must comply with California Corporations Code Section 313, requiring either dual signatures from specified corporate officers or a single signature accompanied by written evidence of authority to bind the corporation.
