KC District Aggregate Specifications
This document is a technical specification guide for aggregate materials used by the Kansas City school district or related transportation/construction entity. The specifications establish standards for various types of aggregates including coarse aggregates, fine aggregates, and recycled asphalt materials used in construction and maintenance projects. The document defines particle size gradations, durability requirements, cleanliness standards, and performance criteria for materials such as crushed limestone, gravel, and recycled asphalt pavement (RAP). Specifications cover testing methods, acceptable material sources, and quality assurance protocols to ensure consistency and performance across district projects. The materials addressed serve multiple applications including base course preparation, subgrade stabilization, and asphalt mix components.
The specifications function as a procurement standard rather than a solicitation document, establishing baseline requirements that suppliers must meet to provide materials to the Kansas City district. The document does not contain pricing information, response dates, or specific contract award timelines. Instead, it serves as a reference document that bidders and suppliers must comply with when submitting aggregate materials for district projects. Compliance with these specifications ensures material quality and compatibility with district construction and maintenance standards, reducing variability in project outcomes and long-term infrastructure performance.
