Description of the supplies or services required, the estimated price/cost, and required delivery date.
This contracting effort is for the purchase of one (1) upgrade replacement DBRS240420000 MaxGard Interlocked Receptacle with Circuit Breaker (shore-power cable receptacle/box) for TSV3 Hunter, due to water intrusion and to correct degraded electrical safety onboard TSV3 Hunter while plugged into shore power. Equipment degraded: due to age, design, and maritime environmental conditions. The current shore-power cable receptacle allowed water intrusion increasing potential for shore electrical power loss to vessel and personnel electrocution hazard.
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: 7/20/2025-9/30/2025
Cost Estimate:
The requested supplies represent the minimum requirements of the government.
Describe in detail why only this source can furnish the requirements to the exclusion of other sources. (what specific characteristics of the supplies or services limit the availability to a sole source (e.g., unique features, function of the item, etc.)?)
☒ The supplies or services must be compatible in all aspects (form, fit and function) with existing systems presently installed/performing. Describe the equipment/function you have now and how the new item/service must coordinate, connect, or interface with the existing system.
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM): Thomas & Betts. ABB Installation Products Inc. acquired Thomas & Betts in 2012.
DBRS240420000 MaxGard Interlocked Receptacle with Circuit Breaker: 200 Amp, 3 Pole 4 Wire, 3 Phase 480V, 60Hz, Breaker Trip Rating 200 Amp.
☒ A patent, copyright or proprietary data limits competition.
☒ These are "direct replacement" parts/components for existing equipment.
Other information to support a sole source action:
Use of other than Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) equipment/material will required additional time and cost considerations. As this equipment is installed onboard the vessel, use of non-OEM equipment/material would require Technical Expert engineering review and acceptance; postponing contract award, procurement and installation of equipment/material. Such a delay would further expose the vessel and personnel to this prolonged electrical safety hazard.
OEM Authorized Distributor list provided.
