About this file

This is an email correspondence file involving Greenville County Procurement Services and the Greenville County Vehicle Service Center regarding specifications for Jotto Desk Partitions for law enforcement vehicles. Katherine Hawthorne, Senior Buyer at Greenville County Procurement Services, coordinated with Jeremy Adkins, Fleet Maintenance Supervisor at the Greenville County Vehicle Service Center, to clarify the exact components and part numbers required for the partition systems intended for SUV-based police vehicles. The procurement process involves three specific Jotto Desk part numbers: Part 475-0065 (front cage partition), Part 475-0923 (replacement bio-seat system), and Part 475-1401 (bar window armor and door control covers). The correspondence clarifies that Part 475-0065 requires High Security Extension Panels (HSEPs) as separate components, and Part 475-0923 requires a separate mesh partition. Additionally, the partition system includes window bars to prevent prisoners from damaging vehicle windows and requires removal and replacement of rear seating with a molded seat system for proper installation.

The correspondence addresses critical specification discrepancies between manufacturer documentation and vendor quotes, with Hawthorne raising concerns that part numbers alone may not capture all necessary components. Adkins confirmed that all three part numbers must be included in the bid solicitation and that all components identified in the vendor quotes are required for proper system functionality. The file does not contain information regarding pricing, bid deadlines, quantities needed, set-asides, incumbent vendors, funding sources, or contract award dates.

The first item is Part 475-0065. The description on the manufacturer website says it does not include the HSEP. The vendor quotes have the HSEP listed in the part description. If I only list Part 475-0065 how will potential bidders know that we need the HSEP? It seems to me that we need to request the HSEP part as well.

Yes, I would say put out all the part numbers out on bid. Because we need all of it. I don’t know if some of the providers have their own part numbers made up in kits or not.

I understand what you’re saying, but the part numbers don’t seem to fully match the descriptions provided on the quotes. From what I can tell, the part numbers may not include all of the components listed in the item descriptions.

My concern is that if we request only the part numbers, we may end up missing some of the needed components.

Does this make sense?

It will be all 3 part numbers. It needs a front cage. With it being a suv it will also need a rear partition. With a rear partition you remove the rear seat and install the moulded seat. Then you have window bars so it prevents the prisoner from kicking the back windows out. I hope this helps
