About this file

This is a Combined Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Quote (RFQ) issued by Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), a Department of Energy facility operated by the University of California.

LBNL is conducting market research to identify vendors capable of supplying a dilution refrigeration system to support the Quantum Systems Accelerator program. The system must meet or exceed the following specifications: 1,000 µW cooling power at 100 mK operating temperature, less than 10 mK base operating temperature, continuous cooling operation with greater than one-week base hold time, 100 flexible microwave lines, attenuation breakout blocks at 4K, 1K, and mixing chamber plates, 8 superconducting readout lines, 8 cryogenic HEMT amplifiers at 4K, and compatibility with greater than 500 microwave lines. LBNL expresses a preference for refrigerators with a history of usage in superconducting quantum computing technology research laboratories. Respondents must demonstrate a proven record of delivering dilution refrigerators meeting these specifications and should submit relevant published product literature, technical specifications, capability statements, and a quotation demonstrating compliance.

All responses, including the completed Company Information Form (pages 4-6) and supporting documentation, must be submitted via email to Jane Graves, Sr. Subcontracts Administrator, at JEGraves@lbl.gov by March 23, 2026, at 3:00 PM Pacific Time. This RFI/RFQ is not a commitment to award and does not obligate LBNL to provide compensation for response preparation. Respondents should not include proprietary or confidential information in their submissions, as responses may be publicly disclosed without notification or opportunity for redaction. The RFI/RFQ is governed by procurement policies under the University's Prime Contract with the Department of Energy.
