Qualified Instructor Notional Day
Cadre X and Y arrive at 0730 and discuss the day’s events with the other cadre. With the days events synchronized, Cadre X readies his classroom to instruct 30 students via a Power Point for 2hrs. The Instructor to Student ratio for this portion is 1 to 30. At 0800 the students arrive and begin training. As the students and Cadre X train in the classroom, Cadre Y readies vehicles and gear for the field training to follow the classroom training.
At 1000, with the classroom training complete, Cadre X walks the students to meet Cadre Y to load up into the vehicles. After a 15min commute to a training range, Cadre X and Y brief the students on the field training event and safety considerations. Three other cadre work to setup the field scenarios. With the added complexity and safety concerns of field operations, the Instructor to Student Ratio changes to 2 to 15. It’s now 1030 and 5 cadre are present with 30 students. Four of the cadre will instruct at the 2 to15 ratio and one cadre will act as the Range Safety Officer.
The 5hr block of field training begins. Cadre perform 2.5hrs of lower complexity field training and then allow the students to eat a prepackaged lunch. After lunch the other, more intensive field training is completed.
With the students fully trained on the lesson, the cadre clean up the training range with the students and drive back to the campus. Cadre X and Y then bring the students to a weapons cleaning area to oversee the students weapons cleaning and answer any questions. The other cadre put away the day’s equipment. At 1700 the day is complete.
Note: This is a notional day and not representative of every day. Some days may:
