About this file

This document is a Justification and Approval (J&A) for the use of other than full and open competition under FAR 13.5, Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items.

The J&A requests approval to award a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Purchase Order on a sole source basis to Niantic Tool, Inc. (CAGE Code: 0B5H6) for the purchase of overhaul and upgrade parts required to support a scheduled availability on an unnamed system. The total estimated value of the requirement is $X over 5 fiscal years. Niantic Tool, Inc. is the only source capable of providing the required parts, as they have previously manufactured many of these components. Transitioning to a different vendor would result in unacceptable schedule delays. The contracting officer will conduct price analysis to determine the proposed prices are fair and reasonable.

The related federal contract opportunity is a sole source acquisition for the required parts from Niantic Tool, Inc. This is not a request for competitive quotes.
